Colourful spring Carrick Castle wedding with Scottish Grown Flowers and a driftwood arch
Carrick Castle is one of our new favourite venues, a great blank canvas for couples really wanting to make their wedding unique to them and set in stunning landscape on Loch Goil.
Laid-back DIY wedding with bright seasonal spring flowers
Heather and Bob were super laid back and fun and their colourful relaxed wedding was right up our street, filled with lots of fun diy décor and personal touches by the couple and bright seasonal spring flowers by us.
Bridal bouquet with Scottish grown Spring flowers and bright fun buttonholes
For Heather’s bridal bouquet and the bridesmaid posies we used lots of Scottish grown spring flowers such as anemones, tulips, camelia, ranunculus, daffodils and narcissus, iris and wallflower among others with one or two imported things like delphinium as well.
For the groom, dads and groomsmen we created fun bright buttonholes with craspedia, ranunculus, statice and greenery bound with twine to suit the rustic barn venue.
DIY Driftwood arch backdrop decorated with focal points of spring flowers
The groom Bob had built and impressive driftwood wedding arch for us to decorate with focal points of spring flowers. This was placed on the lawn in front of the house to work as a focus for the ceremony against the beautiful backdrop of the loch. Building your own wedding arch is a great project if you’re crafty or have a friend or family member that is and wants to get involved. It saves on your budget too as you don’t need to hire one and after the wedding, if you have a garden you can grow things like roses, clematis or honeysuckle up it.
Bottles and vases down the aisle slotted into whisky staves filled with bright flowers
For ceremony décor we also added bottles and vases collected by the couple down the aisle slotted into whisky staves provided by the families of the couple. We filled these bottles with brightly coloured seasonal flowers which helped carry the colour theme down the aisle and then these could be easily moved to the main barn for the reception after the ceremony.
Quirky Clear vases of different sizes with colourful blooms dotted on tables
This theme was mirrored in the main barn where we dotted more bottles and vases of different sizes filled with colourful blooms down the tables and on other spaces like the cake table. Using bottles, jars and vases collected by you or your friends and family is another great way to get family involved and make you wedding more personal to you.
If you’d like to see more ways to include flowers in your wedding look at our flower ideas pages or have a look at the seasonal wedding galleries so you can get an idea of the sort of flowers that will be available at different times of year
