Pretty spring pastel wild flowers at The Rhynd St Andrews
Alice and James’ gorgeous spring wedding at The Rhynd was filled with pretty seasonal flowers arranged in a wild flower style. We used lots of Scottish and British grown favourites such as anemone, narcissus, blossom, tulip, and ranunculus as well as some imported things like Quicksand roses to achieve a romantic delicate look.
wild, loose romantic style bouquet with seasonal flowers
Alice wanted a beautiful wild, loose romantic style bouquet with lots of seasonal flowers so we used lots of locally grown blooms from Keeping the Plot in Fife and the Briar Rose cutting garden, including hellebore, blossom, ranunculus, tulips, wallflower and anemone as well as lilac clematis, Quicksand roses and lilac (these were imported).
We finished off her ethereal bouquet with some beautiful hand dyed silk ribbon which looked gorgeous against her dress and caught the wind nicely in their outdoor photos. For the bridesmaids we made similar bouquets but smaller in the same relaxed wild flower style.
rustic buttonholes of thistle, spray rose & heather
For James and the groomsmen we made rustic buttonholes of thistle, spray rose, heather and wax flower to tie in with the pastel colours of the other wedding flowers, finishing them with a twine binding to suit the rustic venue.
Long & Low Ceremony Alter Arrangement at St Salvator’s Chapel
The couple had their ceremony at St Salvatore’s in St Andrews so we created a beautiful “long and low” flower arrangement in moss for the alter which could then be easily moved to their reception afterwards at The Rhynd. A “long and low” is really just a long low arrangement of flowers in a line, usually arranged in floral foam but as we are a foam free florist we use moss instead which is more environmentally friendly.
foam free arch at The Rhynd St Andrews Wedding Venue Scotland
The Rhynd is a great blank canvas venue which you can really make your own with installations and other décor and has lots of interesting original features in the main space such as feeding troughs and arches.
We created a beautiful foam free arch around the door from the bar to the main area which really brought the space to life and was a perfect backdrop for guest selfies.
delicate spring Reception flowers
To complement the gorgeous blue and white table runners the mother of the bride had made herself we dotted lots of different sized vintage blue glassware and bottles down the tables in between candles. These were filled with delicate spring flowers and created a relaxed and light feel carrying the couple’s colour theme through the space.
