Spring wild flower wedding at Cambo Estate
Cambo Estate is a gorgeous setting for a wedding with a beach, beautiful woodland and walled garden, luxurious country house setting and even a rustic style stables area for your ceilidh. This makes it a really versatile option for couples and we love how every wedding we flower up there is reflects the couple’s style. You can lean into the rustic barn feel or go full Downton Abbey with your styling.
Rheanan and Michael’s beautiful pastel May Cambo Estate wedding was full of seasonal flowers in soft romantic colours of pale pinks, whites and bluey greens. The couple loved music so we worked with them to design unique musical themed arrangements for the ceremony making their flowers special to them and their style.
Musical themed flowers
For the ceremony, which was held in the beautiful walled garden at Cambo Estate we decorated vintage musical instruments with flowers and foliage lining the aisle. These quirky pieces were totally unique and really set the theme for the wedding as guests arrived to take their seats. Using environmentally friendly foam free mechanics we worked some floral magic to decorate an accordion, fiddle, trumpet and even a guitar in beautiful seasonal flowers. May is a great time of year for flowers as spring blooms such as anemones, ranunculus and tulips are still going but some of the early summer flowers can also sometimes be available.
These fun flowery musical instruments were then moved to the main house for the wedding reception where we had also decorated a gramophone and piano as part of the music theme! These wedding flowers were certainly unique and we love a flower based challenge.
For the wedding reception we lined the long banquet tables with simple foliage runners of fresh Irish grown eucalyptus dotted with candles collected by the couple. This low key decoration was perfect for the opulent room the wedding breakfast took place in, which already had lots of lush textures and colours provided by the interior décor.
Romantic garden style bouquets
For Rheanan’s bouquet we used gorgeous blousey spring flowers such as ranunculus, anemones, columbine, tulips and oralya to create a delicate, romantic feel. The pale pastel tones looked gorgeous contrasting with the bridesmaids’ dark green dresses and we added hand dyed trailing silk ribbon to the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids’ posies for an added boho feel. Trailing silk ribbon is a great way to add extra luxury to your wedding bouquet and looks great in photos outside as it blows in the breeze. You can see more examples of the sorts of flowers you can get at this time of year in our Spring wedding gallery.
Rustic gent’s buttonholes
Michael and the groomsmen had naturally styled buttonholes with scented rosemary, lily of the valley, dried rice flower and thistle bound with twine for a rustic natural look that worked really well with the brown tweed of the their jackets. The lily of the valley and little sprigs of rice flower tied in with the soft pastels of the bridal flowers making all the floral designs come together.
