Jewel toned spring wedding at Kinmount house
Liam and Ruby’s gorgeous spring wedding at the luxurious Kinmount House was full of seasonal flowers in rich jewel tones and lots of personal touches from the book loving couple. They had a great book lovers meets Gatsby vintage vibe to their wedding and these rich dark colours like purples, blues, and deep reds worked perfectly with that.
Ceremony flowers
For the ceremony we tied colourful wild flower style posies to the chairs down the aisle with beautiful dark green ribbon to match the bridesmaid dresses. These colours really popped against the wood in the room and helped lead the eye down the aisle to the ceremony space.
We created two lush foliage filled arrangements in tall vases for the front of the ceremony, these matched the ararngementd for the wedding reception later on. Filled with Scottish grown tree foliage these simple arrangements brought the outside in and really softened the space. The bride had hand written quote from her favourite books which we hung on the branches creating a unique and personal decoration for the ceremony space.
Reception flowers and foliage arrangements
The wedding reception was in the marquee hall where we had created a sumptuous flower and foliage filled garland along the top table trailing all the way onto the floor. The eye catching teal art deco cake was decorated with our fresh flowers to match and the long banquet style guest tables had airy runners of fresh greenery down the middle. We then added striking tall glass vases of fresh woodland foliage to match the ceremony arrangements. These beautiful but simple foliage designs sat above the eye line adding height and drama to the space and creating a woodland feel. We hung more gorgeous handwritten literary quotes from these piece to continue the book loving theme!
The bridal bouquet
Ruby’s bridal bouquet was filled with rich dark jewel tones of purples, blues and deep dark reds which looked great against the dark green bridesmaid dresses and the bride’s beautiful vintage style wedding dress. We used a mixture of seasonal UK grown spring flowers and imported Dutch flowers to create this Gatsby style look with anemones, bluebells, tulips, ranunculus, delphinium, thistle, roses and beautiful hellebore. I used some of my favourite dark chocolate / burgundy pittosporum foliage alongside some eucalyptus to really lean into the deep dark bluey purply tones of the couple’s colour palette. To finish the bridal bouquet I added beautiful hand tied natural silk ribbon for a touch of luxury. I created matching posies for the bridesmaids inspired by the bridal bouquet and arranged in the same natural wild flower style.
The buttonholes
The groom and groomsmen had thistle buttonholes to tie in with the groom’s kilt tartan the bridal bouquet. We added eucalyptus and rosemary foliage to add scent and stem of grape hyacinth for a pop of blue which mirrored the delphinium and bluebells in the bridal bouquet. These buttonholes were then bound with a beautiful deep green ribbon to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses.
